Youth Empowerment Beyond Classrooms
At STEPi, our commitment to community empowerment is rooted in the belief that uplifting individuals at every stage strengthens society as a whole.
STEPi Chairman and Founder Paul Sutherland led an inspiring seminar at the SA College for Tourism in February, equipping learners with vital life skills like self-awareness, emotional intelligence, grit, and determination - skills that will benefit their personal and professional growth. The college trains unemployed youth from rural backgrounds to be able to take up roles within the tourism and hospitality industry, providing economic empowerment and employment.

Between the 19th and 21st of May, Paul collaborated with Nelson Mandela University to host a transformative seminar at the Valley of Grace, a rehabilitation centre in Johannesburg. The seminar, titled "Still I Rise: The Power of Love," addressed one of society's most pressing challenges: helping individuals replace unhealthy patterns with positive tools and life skills.
At the heart of the seminar was the profound truth that each individual has “lots to give." This simple yet revolutionary message helps individuals discover their inherent worth and potential for positive impact, regardless of their past circumstances.
These community engagements demonstrate STEPi's holistic approach to education, by recognizing that learning is lifelong, and every person has something valuable to contribute to their community.
